Expressing his views to a programme of the national radio this morning,

The deputy minister reiterated that this economic policy will be implemented under the new government which will be established after 100-day programme.

The government expects to provide fullest concession to the public.
Concessions provided by the previous budget will also be given to the public.
Dr. Harsha de Silva reiterates that the tax introduced by the interim budget for businessmen will be imposed only once. Some businesses have earned high profits on political connections during the previous government.

The aim of introducing above tax is to distribute a part of the profits earned by above
companies among the public. Relevant discussions are now underway to increase salaries of
the private sector.
Discussions are being held with the salaries commission to add the
salary increments of public employees to their basic salary. The deputy minister pointed
out that real income of public employees has declined in last three years.  540 billion
rupees have been allocated for infrastructure development in the previous year. 410 billion
rupees out of that has been allocated on road development. It is an unnecessary extra
expenditure.
The Deputy Minister added that the government used above money to provide
concessions to the public stopping corruption and frauds.
